... was very good <3
Satisfying because I approved many samples and submitted many more new designs, finalized HVV's new website layout, and also got my lazy ass down to incorporating and cementing something exciting for HVV this Fall; Fulfilling because I met up with the BFFs and spent a brilliant time with them catching up, bitching and complaining <3 and with V to try out new restaurants (for some reason, trying out new restaurants makes me incredibly happy) to stuff ourselves to our hearts content; and VERY rewarding because we tied up April with a kickass getaway to Bali for Mag's birthday :D But more on that the next post because I still have heaps of Formspring questions to clear after this.
In the meantime, two outfits that have already been launched :)
Bistro du Vin
We skipped the mains and just did entrees and desserts :)
They have one of the best Mashes, Sauteed Mushrooms and Souffles around!!
Incredibly disconcerting after a while because the beef tartare was basically just a slab of tasteless and very raw-looking pile of meat :(
Anyway, I just have to add this picture in because
1) I need your help
2) It's a tribute - the fairest I'm going to be for a very long time and
3) Because I AM A DARK PALLID GREY NOW. No shit.
I used to be severely grey-brown when I was younger and then I thought it was cool to slather on the fake tan so I'd look healthy brown (I don't think it occurred to me that I was in fact, god help me flaming orange and I don't want to think about it now) but anyway the point is that I started lightening up when I went over to Australia and that was when I decided, hey I have a chance to be look moderately fair (and not brown and greasy) so I'm going to take it. And take it I did.
I basically avoid sunlight at all cost. I scuttle around when I leave the room to go downstairs because I spot rays of sunlight streaming in through the window. The blinds in my room are never up and I prefer to go out at night. Okay a little bit creepy, I know, but that's what happens when you come out brown because your mother craved KFC when she had you :(((((( and craved bird's nest when she had your sister. DOUBLE :(((((
So yeah, anyway, I went to Bali and then got conned by Mag to swim. Her selling point was that she had SPF 130 and her attack was that it was her birthday. Now I realize I should have just pretended I couldn't swim. When normal humans go under the sun, they become nice and bronzey and healthy. That doesn't happen to me :( I become a sickly shade of dark grey. Instantly. So now I am regretting the consequences of my very miscalculated step towards being a free, sunbathing rebel (what was I thinking?) and am currently reduced to trying all sorts of products and praying to good lord that this is not permanent :(
If you have any other recommendations at all, PLEASE LET ME KNOW.
I will be eternally grateful :)
Veering very (very) far from the topic of the depressing color I have become though, I couldn't have asked for a better holiday with Mummy and Maggles :) I love this picture because the view is breathtaking and it reminds me of the fun we had and how important it is to take time off life to spend time with your family <3
Will blog about Bali in my next post!
